apt will not provide a third party any customer or student information other than that required by law or subject to the service of a legal subpoena. The database containing all of the customer and student records is not accessible on-line. The software which transfers information to and from the database during an on-line session is maintained on the server and is never transmitted to the remote client. Such sessions are unique and allow access only to the information permitted to the current user. User access rights to various categories of information are determined by the customer as described in Administration.
apt's distance learning application is designed to strictly limit intrusions on the client's computer. The application stores session information on the server and so does not place "cookies" on the remoter computer. We also avoid the use of "pop-ups" and do not download spyware or adware to customer computers. The only executable code downloaded is plugins necessary for viewing media files, and those only from reputable providers with the express proactive permission of the user. If your computer system uses a firewall the following ports should be enabled: TCP on 80, 554, 1755, and UDP on 1024 through 5000, 5005.
