Highly flexible curriculum design is made possilbe by apt's use of training Categories, Levels, and Sequences for course selection, in conjunction with Passing score, Excellent score, and Minimum number of Questions for test customization. The following chart illustrates the process that the training application uses to select the courses that are listed in the Index.
Categories are used to define classes of courses and students according to training needs. They can "filter" out courses that are not required for a particular set of Students by preventing the course listing in the Index. They can also be used to apply test customization settings to certain classes of students; for instance, you might want to set a higher standard for supervisors. Levels are used to denote courses and students according to training progress. Courses associated with a given training level will not appear in the Course Index until the Student has been "promoted" to that level by an Administrator. This is especially useful if apt's on-line training courses are to be integrated with other training. Finally, Sequence can be used to control the order in which the Students take the courses. Absent sequence control, the courses may be taken in any order since all relevant prerequisite material is "linked," but Organizations may want to impose a sequence based on internal priorities.
